Vikas Swarup

Vikas Swarup is a former diplomat, television host and best-selling author who gained global recognition with his debut novel Q&A, adapted into the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire. His second novelSix Suspects, was made into an eight-part series The Great Indian Murder on Disney/Hulu. His third novel, The Accidental Apprentice, has also been optioned for a film. 

His latest novel, The Girl with the Seven Lives, has become a national bestseller, won the Kalinga Book Award for Best English Fiction 2025 and has been longlisted for the Dublin Literary Award. 

His books have been translated into 47 international languages. He has participated in numerous festivals around the world, has written for some of the most prestigious publications and is the recipient of honorary doctorates from the University of South Africa, Carleton University, Concordia University & the University of Guelph (Canada).
