Kanika Tripathi

Kanika Tripathi did not choose to be a writer, of course not. She grew up in Nainital. And being young and innocent, took to visiting the school library. In itself a harmless act. But who would have thought dead writers would come to life and entice her to their world of words?

That’s how Kanika started writing stories and plays of her own. And no, she did not dream of becoming a writer one day. Writing was what she called a hobby. Maybe she was lying. Because she did study Literature to deepen her friendship with the dead writers. But being prudent, she took up a job that involved sitting in front of a screen from nine to five. At night, she would set up secret rendezvous with old friends.

Their influence grew. So much so that Kanika quit her job and left for Nainital. She started writing a story. A story about coming back, which, she learnt, is different from never having left. She hopes to write many more stories, and perhaps make her old friends proud one day.
